How it works

  3. Save the result.Save the signed PDF and send it back.

Three ways to sign

  • Draw with your finger or a stylus. It looks most like your pen signature.
  • Type your name and it is written in a handwriting style.
  • Photo: sign a white sheet of paper and take a picture. The paper becomes see-through, so only your ink lands on the page.

Add your initials to each page that needs them, and the date with one tap. Drag to move, pull the corner dot to resize. Turn on Lock form fields if the PDF has fillable fields and you want them fixed as they are.

What kind of signature this is

This is an electronic signature: a picture of your signature placed on the page. That is accepted for most everyday documents like rental forms, school permissions and delivery notes. It is not a certificate-based digital signature, the kind some banks and governments require, which proves who signed with a digital ID.

Your signature never leaves your device, and we don't keep it.

Questions

Is an electronic signature legally valid?

For most everyday agreements in the UK, EU and US, yes. Some documents, like wills, deeds and certain government forms, need a handwritten or certificate-based signature. If in doubt, ask whoever sent you the document.

Can I ask someone else to sign?

No. Thumbs PDF is for signing your own documents. There are no accounts or sharing, so nothing about your document is stored anywhere.

Is my signature saved?

No. It exists only on this page while you use it.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Signing happens in your browser, and it works in airplane mode.
